Corrosion resistant coatings are used to protect aircraft landing gear components that are made of high-strength steel. These alloys are susceptible to corrosion and subsequent cracking when exposed to the environment.
To solve this problem, we developed a chromate free coating system that is resistant to high-energy impact foreign object damage (FOD). The coating cures rapidly, does not contain volatile organic compounds and is non-toxic when cured. It can be easily applied or repaired in the field or maintenance depot.
This impact resistant coating and primer is a replacement for the poor-performing, toxic coating system currently in use.
